Foster and Martin was a commercial photographic company. Cato notes that Foster and Martin were both pupils of Batchelder's (1955, p.162). The company was active in Melbourne from 1877. It occupied a variety of premises. The company was still in business in 1900 and at this point seems to have consisted of John Foster and Mrs. Harrison Martin. (Davies and Stanbury, p.162).
