William Meluish was a commercial photographer. He established a photographic business at the corner of Dowling and Prince's Street, Dunedin in 1856. He documented the growth of Dunedin in the late 1850s. He was advertising the sale of his studio in 'The Otago Daily Times' in June 1864. Meluish sold the business to Daniel Louis Mundy. The date of Meluish's departure from New Zealand has not been established. He died at Otago House, Upper Norwood.
