Harry Pollard was born in Tillsonburg, Ontario, Canada, in 1880. He arrived in Calgary in 1899 and opened a studio on Stephen (8th) Avenue. He made a specialty of photographing people from the First Nations. He was the press photographer for the Associated Screen News and Canadian Pacific Railway in 1924. Pollard retired in 1954. The Harry Pollard Collection of 10,000 negatives is housed in the Alberta Provincial Archives. The RCS collection comprises modern print copies presented by the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 1976.
