James Russell and Sons was a commercial photographic firm based in London, England. The company was established in 1852. It occupied a number of premises: 29 Union Road, Tufnell Park 1883-85; 199 Brompton Road 1884-88; 49 Brecknock Road 1886-99, 17 Baker Street 1889-. The company was still in business in 1908 (Pritchard 1994, pp.100-101). During the late nineteenth century the firm also had studios at 13 High Street, Windsor and 50 Clarendon Road, Southsea. | |||
