Julio Augusto Siza was a commercial photographer based in Georgetown, British Guiana (now Guyana) in the 1880s and 1890s. In the 1887 edition of 'The British Guiana directory...' Siza is listed as having a photographic studio, 'The Lusitana Photographic Gallery', in Water Street (1887, p.111 and 251). He continued working in Water Street until 1896 ('British Guiana directory...' 1896, p.147 and 304). According to Tereza Siza, the photographer's great grand-daughter, Julio Augusto Siza moved to Para, Brazil and had another studio there, 'Photographia Amazonas', before he returned to Portugal, where he died in 1917. In 1886 he was awarded the Bronze Medal at the Colonial and Indian Exhibition, London ('British Guiana directory...' 1889, p.xxii). The business was probably taken over by Jardine.
