William Henry Whiteman was a commercial photographer active in the Trinidad. He established a photographic business in Trinidad circa 1897. In 1898 he had a studio on Abercromby Street (Collens 1898, p.87). By 1905 he had moved to Frederick Street, where he remained until circa 1916 (Collens 1905, p.95; Franklin 1916, p.241). Whiteman is not mentioned in 'The Trinidad and Tobago yearbook' for 1919 or 1920 (Franklin 1919; Franklin 1920) However, in 1922 Macmillan gives his address as 71 Frederick Street, Port of Spain (1922, p.216). Whiteman photographed the Trinidad Railways for the Colonial Office and he accompanied Sir George Le Hunte on a visit to Venezuela (Macmillan 1922, p.216).
