The firm Brown, Barnes and Bell had its head office in Liverpool (Pritchard 1994, p.41). However, the company also had a number of branches across the country, including London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds, Birmingham, Hanley, Wigan, Bradford, Manchester, Nottingham and Newcastle-upon-Tyne. There were also district offices in Hull, Newport, Middlesborough and Burnley (Vaughan 2000). The firm's London branches were at: 220 and 222 Regent Street 1880-85; 62 Cheapside 1881-89; 12 Baker Street, Portman Square 1886-1901 (Pritchard 1994, p.41).
