whereas at a court here held 8.10.1618 it was shown by the homage that Roger Mowle out of court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Thos Fayer instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Parker and Thos Pryor two customary tenants of the same manor the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor one cottage with garden with appurtenances called Boxteds to the use and behoof of Jn Meadowe son of Jn Meadow of Wakes Colne in the county of Essex his heirs and assigns forever but the admittance of the aforesaid Jn at this same court was moved and respited for divers causes of that court as by a roll of that same court it was shown now to this court came the aforesaid Jn Meadow and humbly sought from the lord admittance to the aforesaid cottage with appurtenances according to the effect of the aforesaid surrender to whom the lord by his aforesaid steward granted thereof seisin to have to him and his heirs from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine the fealty however of the aforesaid Jn was respited until etc and he was admitted thereof tenant of the lord
