now also at this court it is shown by the homage that Jas Pennock on 2.11.1618 surrendered into the hands of the lord of the aforesaid manor by the hands of Simon Ive instead of the bailiff in the presence of Robt Crowe and Rich Ward two customary tenants of this same manor the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor all that field called Chiffin Field with a barn built thereon containing by estimation 4a more or less to the sole use and behoof of Rose Partridge widow and her heirs forever upon the condition however that if the aforesaid Jas Pennock his heirs or assigns should well and truly content and pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Rose Partridge her executors or assigns the full sum of 22li of legal english money at or in the now dwelling house of the said Rose situated in the aforesaid Earls Colne in or upon 5.11.1619 that then this surrender should be void and of no effect or otherwise it should remain in full force
