and also it is shown by the homage that on 17.4.1619 Sam Brewer surrendered into the hands of the lord of the aforesaid manor by the hands of Simon Ive instead of the bailiff in the presence of Robt Crowe and Jas Pennock two customary tenants of the said manor the same testifying according to the custom of the same said manor all and singular his customary lands and tenements now commonly called or known by the name of Lodge Field Kitchin Field and a garden called Debnams Garden containing by estimation 20a more or less parcel of the lands and tenements of the aforesaid Sam called Debnams to the use and behoof of Rose Partridge of the aforesaid Earls Colne widow her heirs and assigns forever upon condition however that if the said Sam Brewer his heirs executors administrators or assigns should well and truly pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid Rose Partridge her executors administrators or assigns the full sum of 42li of legal english money at or in the now dwelling house of the said Rose called Curds situated in the aforesaid Earls Colne in or upon 18.10.next following the date of the aforesaid surrender that then the aforesaid surrender should be void and of no effect otherwise it should remain in full force and effect
