There are a few entries for photographers whose work is not known for certain to be held in the RCS Collection, but who were professionally associated with firms which are represented there. Inevitably very little can be discovered about some of the photographers represented by only one or two items, but none has been excluded simply on the ground of limited material, and in the case of some more prolific photographers, substantial details have been recorded.

Users of this database will be able to browse the information or carry out searches for specific photographers by name, studio, time period, geographic area and photographic work.

It should be stressed that this is very much a 'work-in-progress'. Consequently, any feedback or suggestions are welcome, particularly any supplementary information. We recognise that there are many opportunities for developing and expanding this database given more resources, and we are seeking further sources of funding in order to accomplish this.
