caption: Man's hair ornament consisting of a tubular cross-bar of white cotton bound with a network of black and red threads and strips of yellow orchid stem, with two fragments of porcupine quills stuck through the centre and tassels of white cotton hanging down from both sides. To get the right to wear this a man must either 1) carry on a simultaneous intrigue with a mother and daughter, or 2) do so with two sisters, or 3) have connections regularly for two years before marriage with all the unmarried girls whom he is permitted.
