Oblong lidded basket of cane twill-work containing 10 copy books, a small note-book and a large register more or less full of characters supposed to be writing for the most part, but apparently meaningless; written in pen and pencil by the Kabui sorceress Gaidiliu, an illiterate girl who sent such written messages with verbal interpretations to her adherents. (note from J.P. Mills) Magic books of the sorceress Gaidiliu captured with her other property in March 1932. The writing is apparently nothing but meaningless scribbling. She is a Kabui girl of no eduction at all and taught herself to scibble. Her "literacy" power gave her immense prestige and she used it to send written messages to he adherents - with verbal messages to say what they meant. The basket is the original receptacle.
