Tally used to keep count of the number of household to which the young men of the morung must distribute shares of pork at the annual festival. The big protuberances are each 8 households and the small ones one each; total for stick 38. Changes are rare in a small village and additions and subtractions can easily be made with a dao. Zemi, Golomi village.
