caption: Funerary monument set up outside dwelling house of deceased: offerings of food and rice beer are hung up on a scaffold erected over the grave. Beside the scaffold stands a bamboo memorial pole decorated with the deceased's shield and carved representations of human heads, mithan horns and miniature birds, insignia to which the deceased is entitled as a head-taker. Southern Sangtam, Yisi village.
