caption: Porters and Colonel Taylor's party passing through Tangkhul irrigated rice terraces. These terraces strongly resemble Angami irrigated terraces and descend the hillside for 1000 ft or more. They are beautifully constructed, the water being expertly channeled, partly by small trenches and partly by bamboo pipes.
