text: Like other Angamis the villagers bury their dead either in their court yards or close to the paths. The graves however are remarkably simple. There are neither effigies nor trophies. The custom of furnishing the dead with intimate belongings, is not followed and all that is done is to set up a stake and exhibit on it the skull of a cow slaughtered at the funeral.
