In the Rengma Nagas, Mills expressed the fear that christianity would quickly engulf the western section. I am told however that in the 12 villages which form this group, Christians are still a small minority. In Tseminyu itself conversions led to such schisms that the christians were expelled and have now an entirely separate Khel half a mile from their village. |

When I visited the christian Khel, I noticed that the gaonbura's daughter had that very moment been married to the Angami head pandit of the Tseminyu school, and as I went up the hill, the bridal procession sallied from the church. I was told that other christian Angamis have married Rengma girls. |
