(57) A feature of all the Aos this side is pipe smoking. Almost every one has a pipe - old women, young girls, adult men, small boys. The pipes are of three kinds. A metal one with a slim conical bowl, a bamboo one - the pipe consisting of a bamboo section fitted with a stalk - and a more elaborate type with a wooden base for water and a curving stem.
