text: | E. Angami. The field rest house of Thenizumi is in a somewhat gloomy setting but has a new type of carving on its four panels. Three heads of mithan are represented as semi-circles resting on small rectangular blocks, while the top most head has a fringe curving outwards like a comb. I was told that this was a tami - the curving bunch of hair which a warrior attaches to his waist and which protrudes above his buttocks. |
