text: Puchatsuma Khel went to visit Jakhama all in full dress - spears, shields, guns - a very few in circular head dress (not then) a huge procession almost one mile long - single line - brilliant yellow necklaces of med fruits, red and green baldrics, black kilts, scarlet and yellow cane leggings, red and white arm bands, white cotton balls in the ear - dazzling colours - genna for a stranger to cross the line, a Bengali man did so and the line immediately set upon him and beat him up - a crowd of girls and women bringing up the rear with the midday rice beer and rations -
