text: The installation of a gate - the actual ritual, the communal act itself a great reinforcement to 'Khel' morale. The Khel acts as a single unit - it demonstrates its virility, its warlike prowess. The emotional forces let loose by the ceremony achieve much the same effect as the gate itself is believed to do. The installation is linked to the sekrengi festival ie. is an extension of it - a reinforcement of it. The festival is to enhance virility, fertility, community from sickness. The songs celebrate great warriors and their loves.
