text: Semas and dancing. At Sakalu I was told that it was genna for Sema girls and women to dance as otherwise the men would suffer hurt in the jungle, wild animals would attack them, nothing in the forest would go right, and on raids they would dismally fail to secure any heads. Emilomi where some old Sema women danced in April was ignoring this Sema prohibition and the Sema tribal council proposed to punish them if they did it again.
