S.D.O's no. 1566G dt. 24/2/37: Perkha of Jakphang took a Yakthu head in revenge for his father. As the villages were at peace Jakphang decided to hand him over the Yakthu but he heard the proposal and fled to Mongnyu, whereupon Jakphang killed two Mongnyu women, and lost their heads. S.D.O. asks if he should call them all in. D.C. said they must not hand over Perkha but would not interfere. Perkha fled elsewhere. (War between Nian and Chongwi was forbidden by Commissioner in his no. 119P dt. 17/2/1925) a note giving history of Yongya-Nian war and references. |
