text: Konyak. The morung as the vital index to the village - the source of its vitality - the means by which its health and prosperity is secured - the magical source of well-being - cf. Ao log-drum. Angami gate.
text: At same time, the well being of a village is intimately linked with the state of its Ang - the Ang is the village 'king' - with all the magic of monarchy - the village therefore surrounds the Ang with everything which can possibly promote his welfare - his private 'log-drum' - his special 'Ang' posts - If the Ang is flourishing the village also flourishes.
