text: Sangtams and Yimchungr - monogamy is the rule - divorce very rare - reason the brideprice - if a girl is not amenable to her husband, he can divorce her and get back all his costs plus a pig - this makes a wife docile and obedient - rich men use servants not extra wives for cultivation.
text: Ao's - 'here today gone tomorrow' - lack of brideprice makes Ao women very independant - therefore divorce common and polygamy impossible.
text: Yimchungr - the characteristic woman's cloth - worn as a single piece from just above the breast to the calves - black with two thin bands - stature some Yimchungr the tallest Nagas I have ever seen - Makam and Kamcho of Cheshorr are both 6 feet - In Chingmirem a Yimchungr 6 feet 4 inches - partly hereditary though neither of their sons is tall -
