text: A few of the wealthier Nagas have been outside the Naga hills and can see themselves and their problems in relation to India as a whole. Yesterday Imlong, our biggest shopkeeper, a Chang with a comely Ao wife came with three of his daughters. His wife is a village woman, but the daughters are being brought up as 'college girls'. Two of them wore large owlish spectacles and will later go to college in Shillong. Judging from their age and class I fear they will be twenty-five before they reach college. Imlong is a sophisticated Naga and talks of Calcutta and Shillong.
