text: There is still no sign of action by the Khonoma group but today a new cyclostyled paper has appeared. It is called Our Home News and is 'published by the Information Department of the Peoples' Independence League.' It begins with a number of quotations.
text: PEOPLE'S DETERMINATION
text: 'Let our object be our country, our whole country, and nothing but our country.'

text: Patrick said, 'I am not a Virginian, but an American.' NAGAS! why not take note here. There are some Nagas who (61) have been talking and fighting against the independence of our Naga people which is within reach today. Such people are trying to disrupt the unity of the Nagas by calling upon the local vanity arousing the emotion of the people, creating distrust and suspicion between villages in order to serve their own selfish purpose for the sake of their job and money.
text: It must be clearly understood that independence is the birthright of every nation. It is the hope of the world, and it has come to us today. Some people said that independence is the voice of Khonoma. What a silly talk! How foolish it is! Why is Indonesia fighting today? Is it not for independence? Why Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Nehru and all the Indian leaders went to jail? Is it because of their foolishness? Is it not for the independence of India?
text: So, why not say with Patrick and Webster, I am not a Khonoma, but a Naga. I am born a Naga; I will live a Naga; I shall die a Naga. Well, what Naga means? Naga stands for honesty; Naga stands for bravery; Naga stands for independence. And let Naga stand for service to mankind, to be a bright star in this world.
