text: I have just returned from a tour of the village. Unlike the Angamis, the Semas poise their houses on open airy sites flanked by feathery bamboo clumps and approached by rising paths. The village street is broad and dry and there are neither watery crags nor wastes of brackish mud. Far down on either side of the spur, the Tizu river was like a thin rope stretching into the distance while the enormous furry slopes swept up on either side.
