text: 8 November. Anangba.
text: Everyone has had a miserable night. After midnight the cold seeped in through the bedclothes and although we piled on overcoats and dressing gowns we could not get warm but lay miserably waiting for the dawn.
text: It was a brilliant morning and by eight o'clock the girls of Anangba and Chongtore, Chuba's village, had arrived to dance. They all had their long hair freshly combed out and held by shining fillets. Their bright cloths were tightly swathed for dancing. They formed a small circle, their arms interlaced across each others' backs, and moved widdarshins, singing in two parts one against the other.
