text: After a luscious meal of pork, beans and sweet potatoes, we set off for the next camp dropping steeply down to the Tizu river. The hillsides were strewn with felled trees turning russet brown. The agricultural season has started again. The harvest is in and the forest is being cleared to make new (156) fields. Some are already being fired and all over the hills small wisps of blue smoke are rising. The camp is built of straw in the rice fields on the banks of the river. The steep hillsides in front and behind us, and the river babbling over the stones reminds me poignantly of the Duddon at Ulpha with Pike black against the sky.
