text: | Soon afterwards we crossed the Sidzu or Yeti River. It flows here through a narrow gorge between rock faces of three to four metres in height. Most luxuriant vegetation fills the ravine. Leafy trees of various kinds grow from the ground up onto the crowns of the trees. (39) Here one felt oneself to be in the wilderness. Our path now wound itself up the mountain side in innumerable bends. Soon we mounted our horses. After a while we rested. |
