text: Our path now went along the borders of the rice fields and I admired the way the people could divide the entire mountainside by terraces. The supply and distribution of the water is also carried out with surprising technical ingenuity. Along the rock face the water was raised in bamboo pipes and the canals are extended over wide areas all at completely equal height.
