Thanks to a large dose of coal tablets which I took yesterday, I woke up feeling completely restored and cheerful. After seven we left for Chakhabama where we arrived at about twelve noon. We walked most of the way as the road to the Sidzu River moves downhill almost all the way. (62) It was a hot, sunny day and the atmosphere in the deep lying Sidzu Valley was rather oppressive. In one field which we passed there was a type of millet which was already almost filled out. Thevoni was rather unhappy as through some misunderstanding no rice beer had been taken along. He said that he drinks water only twice or three times a year at most when he goes hunting and cannot take rice beer along. At the Sidzu, fortunately, some people were expecting us with his beloved madhu. It was a real relief to be able to ride up the long slope to the Chakhabama bungalow. Nothing noteworthy happened in the afternoon. |
