text: The inspection and dak bungalow where we spent the night was quite hot and of course there were no electric fans. The air was saturated with humidity. From the jungle came the screeching and quarrelling of the parrots and the peculiar calls of the gibbon monkey or huluk. The evening meal was good. Although I did not sleep badly I woke up feeling exhausted and sore and with a strange feeling in my stomach. The heat really is quite depressing.
