text: I asked the minister who had joined us, a young Ao in shorts, why the christian boys are not allowed to sleep in the morung, and emphasized using my best Assamese that the morung would indeed be a very good place. The minister was not pleased but my guide was the more delighted as he still adheres to the old customs.
