text: Kanching is a relatively recent colony of Tamlu about fifty years old and pays tribute to the Ang of Tamlu. Originally neither Tamlu Anaki nor Namsang had an Ang but three generations ago Tamlu got an Ang from Wanching whose grandson still holds the office today. About headhunting I also heard more detail (page 26 following). An old man who (122) had participated in the founding knew a lot about old customs. I ate my sandwiches in the house of a gaonbura then photographed the second morung (film 19).
