In the afternoon came Chingai the very intelligent dobashi of Oting. He told me that there are two morungs in Oting, first Lang-ya with the clans Ang-ha-ba, Wang-shu, Wang-nan and Lok-jem, second Ding-arin with the same four clans plus the clan Long-po. The Ang-ha-ba clan does not eat with any other clan. Wang-shu also eats separately. Wang-nan, Lok-jem and Long-po eat together. Ang-ha-ba men are allowed to marry Ang-ha-ba women but they have to come from another village. They may also marry women of the Wang-nan, Lok-jem and Long-po clans but not Wang-shu women. Wang-shu men have to take their women from the Wang-nan, Lok-jem and the Long-po clans. Men from (147) Oting may marry Shiong girls but not girls from Wakching.
