text: In Wakching I had asked in vain about feasts of merit. Now I discovered that the Angs of Chi give such feasts either in their own name or in the name of a dead brother or even a young son. Mewang has given two such series but never in his own name. They are very expensive as for one feast up to fifty mithans have to be slaughtered. I have to find out more about it tomorrow. The Ang sent two of his men to Borjan for rum. I gave them some letters to take.
