From one of the Au-kheang houses came crying and wailing just like the mourning during a funeral. It turned out though that no one had died but that the head of a boy was to be taken from the platform and placed into the stone container. The stone container was just being put into a basket and a man carried it to the burial place. On this day a chicken is killed in the house for the dead who have been loved and it is carried to the skull place and fastened there, together with some cooked food, to the palm leaf cover of the skull urn. About a month later a pig is killed, a leg is brought to the skull place and the rest is divided among the mourners and those who helped at the funeral. |
