text: Quickly I take a snapshot of the scene, then I suddenly get a bit dizzy, the descent had been exhausting and the heat here is quite bad. So I sit down and Nlamo gives me a drink of water. Soon I feel better. As those coming after me half climb over me I get undressed. I only keep on my shorts then I too wade to the stony bank. There all is a flurry of activity. The people have put their baskets onto the rocks and are getting out their nets. Children play in the water. Pretty girls from Shiong stand together in groups with thick bunches of yellow and red necklaces. (12) Above the stony bank the water is deep and boys and young men cheerfully swim around in it.
