text: In the afternoon comes the Balang gaonbura, Me-dzou. Again I ask about harmful magic and soon realize that I was not wrong yesterday when I thought that Chinyang knew more than he was saying. Indeed there exists a ritual for black magic which is of noticeable clarity. A man who wants to bring sickness or death to someone else, be it in an enemy village or in one's own, makes a little wooden figure and while he speaks the name of the victim together with some good wishes, he cuts off the head of the figure. This occurs secretly at night in his house and the statue is secretly buried in the village.
