Punkhung has the same tradition of origin as Tanhai (see page 82). The village founder was a man of the Khu-dzu-shim lineage which belongs to the Long-pong-shu clan, that is a Ben man (see notebook 8 p. 11 for the building of the first field hut). The Ang himself does the first planting by the formal beginning of the harvest is done by all on the same day. (see page 12). All clans use wooden coffins with hornbill heads for their dead except for the Ben clans of the Wang-dze who use bamboo. The skulls are stored in stone boxes by the Ang people. The Ben clans use pots. (93) I take down the most important gennas which roughly correspond to those of Wakching (notebook 8 p. 15 following). |
