text: After I have asked a bit about the village founding and the village and morung officials, I go to Chingai's house. Next to his platform is a tree with big oranges. They are still green and will not ripen until December or January but Chingai brings tangerines for me of which there is also an abundance. They are still dark green but to my surprise the unpromising peel contains a fruit of the normal colour of tangerines. It is not very sweet so far but nevertheless quite good. It rains when I go back to my camp. All evening long as well one hears the drops fall on the palm roof.
