In the afternoon I find out coincidentally that a girl is just about to be tattooed. Normally this second tattoo which consists of a band across the knees is done when a girl has become pregnant and wants to move into her husband's house. A proper wedding ceremony does not exist and the completion of the tattoo marks the entry of the women into the clan of her husband. In this case the girl is not yet pregnant but as all her girlfriends are already married and she is the last one of her age group she now wants to move in with her husband as well and therefore the tattoo is applied. |
