Our departure went smoothly and soon we went down into the valley of the small river which is the border between Hungphoi and Longkhai. It is the same as the one we had bathed in on our way to Wangla. The trail led through the tall grass and reed of old fields. Everywhere we encountered the traces of buffalo which had broken trails through the thicket. Strangely enough these animals live in semi wild circumstances without removing themselves too far. Their owners occasionally look for them and feed them with salt. Otherwise they are left to themselves. The keeping of mithan is identical. |
