wooden forks for carrying home game and forked posts |

I forgot to mention that in Sangsomo they used a skull of cattle instead of wood for the base of the string of bamboo cane balls. Furthermore we saw numerous wooden forks there on the wall of a house. These are used to carry home game and they are preserved as evidence of success in the hunt. In all of these villages one sees forked posts of the kind described on page 183. At a sacrifice the mithans are tied to it and are killed with a spear. Then the skull is tied to the post for one day. |
