circular dance of Panso warriors |
text: |
After a while the dancers begin to form a semi-circle and instead of the movement along a straight line they now take their steps in a circle, or rather in a rather drawn out oval. Calmer moments change with lively movements and the small jumps, but there are no outbreaks of temper as I had seen them in the Konyak dances. The leader of the dance also hardly stands out and does not even direct the speed. As he has one hand free he holds his dao while those of the other dancers rest in their sheaths on their backs. |
