text: On the way towards Noksan we first passed the village of Longtang which we had seen yesterday. I noticed a funeral platform surrounded by a fence which contained a protective roof covering the platform itself as well as two benches. Underneath the corpse there was a hearth with new ashes. It all reminded me strongly of the burial forms of Oting. Indeed I discovered that the mourners sit on these benches and keep a fire burning underneath the corpse which smokes it. Later the head is buried.
