head taking dance in Tamlu fails to start |

(73) Yesterday already I had told the Tamlu dobashi and the gaonburas that I would like to see the dance which is held on the day after the bringing in of a head. I also asked whether the young men might start not too late as I wanted to take photographs. Of course they would only be too happy to dance for me. They would do nothing else all day long. When I brought up the topic again in the morning it was said that the dance would start as soon as the sun had risen a bit higher and the fog had gone away. After two hours the dancers supposedly were all ready and were only fortifying themselves with a little snack. They apparently were still occupied with this enjoyable pastime when the sun started to go down again. |
